A vintage foreign movie poster of ''Hard Times'', released in 1975, is an American drama film directed by Walter Hill in his directorial debut. The film stars Charles Bronson as the main character, Chaney. Set in the Great Depression era, the story revolves around Chaney, a drifter who arrives in Louisiana looking to make some quick money.
Chaney, a street fighter, teams up with a fast-talking promoter named Speed, played by James Coburn. Together, they navigate the underground fighting circuit during this economically tough period. The film is notable for its realistic and gritty depiction of street fighting and the tough life during the Depression.
The character of Chaney is a man of few words but great physical prowess, embodying the tough, silent archetype that Charles Bronson was known for in his film roles.
